Midterm Position Paper

Our Midterm Paper paper is, funnily enough, due on Friday, October 13th!

This assignments asks students to  implement and expand the arguments begun in their Monster Blogs to write a thesis-based analysis of one or two texts of their choosing. Students can write about Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher,” James’ The Turn of the Screw, Melville’s Bartleby, the Scrivener, Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House, Morrison’s Beloved, or Peele’s Get Out. In a 1000-1500-word paper, students will present an argument about a single claim about a text or texts, employing at least one of the recommended readings in our course to illustrate their argument.
